Group Information (where you are based, number of members, normal group activities etc…): Clydebank Family Church is a small growing church at the heart of the Clydebank community. Our vision is to have a positive impact upon the community in Clydebank and across West Dunbartonshire. We host a parent and toddler group, prior to Covid we had outreach sessions in Clydebank Town Centre and we put on community events open to everyone. We always provide hot drinks, food and a listening ear to anyone who needs help. We are launching a new vision called "The Streets Ministry". This will be a project to connect with and support those who for whatever reason have found themselves homeless and sleeping rough in our communities. The work will involve going onto the streets, engaging with individuals who are homeless and/or struggling with drug and alcohol to offer support and both practical and emotional help.
What will you use the money for?: The money we are hoping to secure will buy a ruck sacks which can be given to those most in need which will contain basic essentials to help them cope in the situation they find themselves in. The essential items will be a sleeping bag, change of clothes, jacket and a small amount of food.
West Dunbartonshire has a growing number of people living rough and we would like to be able to intervene in some way to help those caught up in this situation. Once we engage and get to know people, we can signpost them to the support they need to find housing or other help.
Who will benefit from this money?: People who are homeless and sleeping rough in and around our communities will benefit from the funding. Those who are struggling with addiction issues will also benefit. The benefit will be both practical and emotional as individuals in desperate circumstances are offered help, friendship and support; changing lives one at a time.
