Investment project code: 112
Group Information (where you are based, number of members, normal group activities etc…): We have 12 members made up of parents with teacher representation. The council was established to work in partnership with the school and develop and engage in activities that support and enhance the education and welfare of the pupils. It is open to all parents who have children at the school. We meet approximately every 2 months either in Clydebank High or Kilbowie Primary school to hear about updates in the school curriculum and to see where we can provide assistance to the school either by fundraising or providing help with projects the school are championing. We are also there to provide a voice for all parents and make sure we convey a representative view when discussing issues. The school often approach the parent council for ask for feedback or input on projects or ideas.
What will you use the money for?: This project is to provide a multi-purpose seating area within the grounds of the primary school. The seating would provide a place where the pupils can benefit from outdoor learning as well as providing an area where they can use to socialise, positively impacting into their mental health and wellbeing. At present the school does not have any seating within the playground and having taken the opportunity to canvas the pupils this is something which would be greatly welcomed by them. The outdoor learning area offers opportunities to develop existing extra-curricular clubs and to engage with the most vulnerable pupils who benefit greatly from these clubs and activities.
Who will benefit from this money?: The project would improve the facilities in the school playground and therefore, would enhance the children's outdoor play experience. However, when restrictions allow, it would also be available out of school hours to provide local families with somewhere close to home that they could come and play safely.
