Group Information (where you are based, number of members, normal group activities etc…): Our group encourages older members of the local community to participate in trips to places of interest. This gives the older people a chance to socialise in a way that they wouldn't normally. A lot of our members don't have cars and do not feel confident enough to go on public transport, so we provide the transport to take them to places such as Stirling at Christmas time so they can do their Christmas shopping. This helps with our older members mental health as it gives them the confidence of being in a group and not having to worry about transport, as well as providing them with company and a day out.

We about 25 - 35 members.

Our members are made up of older people from the local community, mostly over retiring age and some members are in their early 90's. we meet to provide company to each other, form friendships and go on trips. Prior to Covid, we met in Alexandria CE Centre on the last Thursday of every month.

What will you use the money for?: We would like to apply for funding for a new laptop, printer and supplies for the group. Out current laptop and printer is our chairpersons personal laptop so we would like one to use for the club which will be kept in a locker in the CE Centre.

Our chairperson also pays for all the paper and ink currently so we would like funding to cover the cost of this. This would make it easier for our group to apply for different funding streams and create materials to keep our members up to date. it would also make it easier for our treasurer to keep a note of all spending.

Who will benefit from this money?: Our project benefits older people in the community who do not have any form of transport and lack the confidence to use public transport. A lot of our members struggle with social isolation, due to this which is what our group aims to address. We encourage our members to form friendships with each other and like to give them something to look forward to that doesn't involve any stress or worry on their part. Having a new laptop and printer would make it easier for us to communicate with our members, local council, publicise our meetings and trips more widely.
