Group Information (where you are based, number of members, normal group activities etc…): Clydebank community sport hub was formed in 2012 when 4 local sports clubs came together with the vision of creating a hub facility that would not only provide a home for the clubs and organisations involved but also deliver a wide variety of outcomes to benefit local residents and make a significant and positive impact on the lives of the people of Whitecrook and Clydebank. The facility opened in late October 2018 and CCSH are now focused on delivering their vision and mission:
Vision: enhance the lives and wellbeing of all in our community
Mission: through the provision of world-class facilities, the hub aims to strengthen community and individual participation in sport and healthy activity. We aim to provide inclusive opportunities in sport, volunteering and recreational pursuits.
The hub support over 1000 users a week and provide excellent opportunities for people of all ages. Activities include Sport, Fitness, Summer Activity Camps, Digital Skills, Senior Social Activity, Allotments and much more.
What will you use the money for?: If successful, all of the activity will happen at our centre based in Whitecrook, Clydebank. Our project is based on our vision and mission, which is to provide sporting and wellbeing opportunities to support our community having dealt with such difficult restraints during the past year. The activities will be provided as and when it is safe and within the guidelines to do so. The activities were carefully chosen via our community consultation early this year. At this point, we would envisage most of the activity to commence late spring/early summer onward. The funding will be for staff costs, promotional material and activity equipment to facilitate the following activities:
- Youth Club & Family Sport Activities - Digital Drop In & Job Club - Senior Social Activity - Community Sport & Fitness Festival - Weekly Drop In Sports Activity for Adults
Who will benefit from this money?: Through this project, CCSH will work with a wide range of people of all ages from Whitecrook and the surrounding areas.
Our aim is to provide our community with positive opportunities when able to come out of lockdown measures, which in turn will provide positive mental health and wellbeing. The key groups include:
- Senior Citizens - Youth - Families
Proposed on behalf of: Clydebank Community Sport Hub - £5000
